How to use it

  1. Select the tables to practice (from 1 to 12) and choose the maximum factor (5, 10, or 12).
  2. Choose the style: complete equations, fill-in-the-blank numbers, mixed, or a multiplication chart to fill in.
  3. Adjust the number of problems, keep the seed or change it, then print the worksheet.
  4. Next, print the answer key separately, or download the worksheet as an SVG or CSV file.

A worked example

Example: 2, 3, 4, and 5 times tables, factors from 1 to 10, fill-in-the-blank style, 20 problems. The total pool contains 4 × 10 = 40 unique problems; the worksheet picks 20 at random, such as "3 × ___ = 24" (answer 8) or "___ × 5 = 35" (answer 7).

In multiplication chart mode for the 2 to 5 tables up to 10, the grid contains 40 cells and about half are hidden.

Method, underlying assumptions, and limits

How it works. The program lists all products for the selected tables, shuffles them using the seed, selects the requested number without duplicates, and hides one of the three numbers based on the selected style. It checks that every result correctly equals the product of the two factors.

Limitations. If the requested count exceeds the number of available unique problems, the worksheet will be shorter and the tool will inform you. Worksheets do not replace hands-on learning and games: a few regular minutes are much better than a long session. The number of hidden cells in multiplication chart mode is random.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print a worksheet for just one times table?

Yes: just select the single table you want. With one table and a maximum factor of 10, the worksheet will contain up to 10 unique problems.

What is the purpose of a multiplication chart?

It helps children spot mathematical patterns (such as commutativity and multiples). Your child fills in the blank cells using the numbers already provided.

How can I prevent my child from peeking at the answers?

The answer key is generated separately: print it out on a separate sheet or keep it on your screen.

Are the generated worksheets saved anywhere?

No. Everything is generated directly inside your web browser and nothing is kept.
