34 possible activities with these filters; 8 selected, with no repetition as long as choices allow. A 5-minute transition time is planned between two activities.
How to use it
- Check the relevant days and enter the available time per day (from 20 to 180 minutes).
- Choose the child's age, preferred topics, and select "mess-free" if needed.
- Set the start time and the date for Monday, then change the seed to generate a different schedule.
- Print, download the CSV file, or download the ICS file to import into your calendar.
A worked example
Example: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 60 minutes per day, ages 6–8, all topics. Wednesday could combine "Obstacle Course" (20 min, active), "Picture Book Reading" (20 min, quiet), and then "Homemade Memory Game" (25 min), allowing 5 minutes for transitions.
Materials (tape, picture book, cards, scissors...) are grouped into a single list for the whole week.
Method, underlying assumptions, and limits
Method. Each activity in the database (35 options) has an age range, duration, topic, energy level, messiness indicator, and materials list. The tool keeps the ones matching your filters, then fills each day up to the time limit: it avoids placing two identical topics in a row, alternates between active and quiet when possible, and only repeats an activity if all choices have been exhausted.
Limitations. Durations and age ranges are indicative: adjust according to your child. Activities involving knives, water, or heat require adult supervision. This schedule is not an educational curriculum: be sure to leave free time too, which is essential for autonomy and creativity.
Frequently asked questions
Does the ICS calendar contain personal data?
No: only activity names, suggested times, and materials. The file is created directly on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Can I choose specific activities?
Not directly: filter by topic, age, and messiness, then change the seed to see other combinations.
Do I need to follow the schedule word for word?
No, it's just a guideline. Keep free time available and swap out an activity that doesn't fit the day's mood.
How are age ranges handled?
Each activity has an age range; an activity is suggested if it covers at least part of the chosen range.
